Introducing.....
Eliza Mae Allred
She's here and she's perfect!!!!! I can't even type right now without getting insanely teary thinking about how in love with her i already am!!!
She arrived at 8:36 this morning, weighing 7lbs 1 oz, and she's 19 inches long. She's got some hair, a big Allred head, and we feel so incredibly lucky to have her in our family!!she's named after 3 great grandmas. Both my mom and my dad have a grandma Eliza, and Reid's Dad's mom is Alta Mae--so she's got a bit of history to her name, PLUS she's our first child to have a name on the day she was born!!
We got to the hospital around 5:30, by 5:45 in Triage i was dilated to a 5, half an hour later, up in Labor and Delivery i was at a 9!!! i mean, i knew that it was starting to hurt more than ever, but when i heard 9 cenitmeters, i started freaking out!! i wasn't ready to do this without an epidural--which is what i kept screaming with every contraction. And by some small miracle, i WAS able to get my epidural in, my contractions slowed down enough to let it take it's full effect (LOVE IT!!!) and by the time she came, i felt that awesome pressure, but with so little pain....oh, it was perfect! There is nothing in the world that is as amazing as those last pushes that bring that little babe into the world. that is the part i could do over, and over, and over again :)
I really was screaming at the top of my lungs--the type of screaming that i'm pretty sure no movie has ever shown. I kept yelling "i wanna die" and "i can't do another one" or " i'm jumping out the window if the anesthesiologist doesn't get here now!!!" We all laughed about it after the epidural started working. The whole floor was talking about it, and when the shift changed, all the new nurses knew that i was the "vocal" one...how embarassing!!!
Eliza came just at the right time, too. We finished painting at 11pm last night. It's tricky painting and having contractions, and with some of them i just couldn't do it, but i knew it was a "now or never" situation, so we just kept working at it, and now the first of many projects in our kitchen is done!!!! (i'll post some better before and after pictures of the kitchen later)

Yay! She's beautiful. I'm so excited for you. Love the story about you yelling (and glad you finally got your epidural!) I can't believe you were painting during contractions! You're nuts girl. Can't wait to see more pictures of sweet Eliza!
Hooray!! Congratulations! I really really don't know how you do it. You always look so beautiful right after you give birth! You and Eliza look great! And painting in labor, really Emily you are too much! Congrats again. She's beautiful and will fit right in with Grace and Abby!
Congratulations!! Eliza is beautiful, and she looks so sweet in the blanket you made for her. Glad to hear everything went well. The picture of you painting the ceiling while having contractions will be a great one for posterity. :)

Congratulations! She is so cute! And you look fabulous!! I can't wait to meet little Eliza. She is perfect! So glad it wasn't during the Democratic National Convention! So much for 20 hour labors... :)
yea for girl #3! i thought when you said that you dilated to a 9 in 30 minutes that you were going to say that you ended up doing it with no drugs! :)
so happy for you-- can't wait to get our SIX girls together whenever i can finally make it out to CO...
Congrats!! She is so cute...in a few weeks we'll have a little boyfriend for her! I'm glad everything went well enough and you got your epidural, although with everything you have done up to her birth I totally think you could have gone the whole way. By the way, I tagged you on my blog- to respond at your convenience of course!
Ahhhhhh, I too am so in love with her!! She is so freaking cute. I can't wait to hold her. She is just as adorable as you other girls (who by the way have been absolute angels for me today!!!!) Congrats!

She is so beautiful and you look so great. Congrats! I wish I could come and see her. Your girls are so beautiful.
Congrats from the Davis Family! If only we weren't 600 miles away, we too could meet her. I was also painting a ceiling when I went into labor with Miles--you and I have now proven that to be an effective way to induce labor. Spread the word! Talk to you soon!
She is a gorgeous little girl!! And you look fantastic! Congratulations!
Emily and Reid--Congratulations!! We are so happy for you. Eliza is absolutely beautiful--just like her Mama and sweet sisters. I remember when Grace was born--awwww. Wahoooooooo!!!

Congrat's Emily. She is so gorgeous!!! After reading that delivery story, I wish I could have been there. You are so hillarious. Next time film it and put it on your blog. Hope the next few weeks go great. Love ya.
CONGRATS Emily and Reid!! She is beautiful, and Eliza Mae is my most favorite name ever!! You're my hero mom! Lots of Love from the Gritton Fam.
Congratulations! She is so beautiful. I don't know why but I love hearing labor stories so I am glad you included some details. And I love the name and all the meaning. So Yeah for cute little burrito babies and no longer being pregnant...and oh yeah, epidurals.
EMILY!!!! Ok. When I started my blog I SWEAR that Jason asked Reid if you guys had one and that Reid said no. If I had only known! I've missed you so much! Well it's been fun reading up on you and the post about your cravings had me laughing for about 10 minutes straight. Congrats on your baby. She is beautiful and your other girls are beautiful too....esp the one with the glasses and curls...just kidding Reid. Get some rest. It sounds like you were majorly nesting before the baby came so maybe now you can relax and enjoy the baby. So happy for you!!! And Reid... good luck buddy. I feel you. I'm outnumbered too!
She is so cute! You are so cute! Cute, cute, cuteness all around, can't wait to meet her in October:)
Congratulations! I am so happy for you! You look great and she looks just as beautiful as her sisters! I'm so glad everything went so well for you and I am looking forward to those before and after pictures. And of course pics of all 3 of your beautiful babes!
